ASUS Aura has stopped working? Don’t worry. To fix the problem, you can try these methods:

Method 1: Reinstall Aura Sync
To fix Aura Sync not working, you can try uninstalling Aura Sync and other Aura software, and re-installing Aura Sync. Here’s how:
Firstly, uninstall Aura Sync and other Aura software.
1) Right-click on the Start menu button at the bottom left corner of the desktop and then select Apps and Features.
2) Uninstall these software: AURA, AURA Service, GALAX GAMER RGB, Patriot, Viper M2 SSD RGB and Patriot Viper RGB.
To uninstall a software, select the software and then click on Uninstall.
3) After you uninstall all mentioned Aura software, restart your computer.
4) Open File Explorer and then go to C:\Program Files (x86).
5) Locate the LightingService folder and then delete it.
If you can’t delete the folder, the Lighting service process may be running in the background. On your keyboard, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager. At the Processes tab, check if LightingService is running, if it’s running. Select it and then click on End task.
6) Restart your computer.
Secondly, install Aura Sync again. Then launch Aura Sync and check to see if it works properly.
If Method 1 doesn’t work for you, continue to try Method 2.
Method 2: Try a different version
This Aura Sync not working issue can be caused by a specific version of the software. For example, some users have reported that Aura Sync stopped working after they updated the software. To fix the problem, you can try a different version.
Important: Before you install a different version of Aura Sync, uninstall your current version and other Aura software first. If you have no idea how to do it, you can refer to the steps in Method 1.
If you’re using the latest version, you can try an older version. You can download an older version from your product’s driver download page on ASUS.
2) Go to Support -> Drivers & Manuals.
3) Enter your product model name.
4) Click on Drivers & Tools.
5) Select the OS as the operating system that your PC is running.
6) Under Utilities, you’ll see different versions of Aura that are available to download. Locate an older version and click the Download button. Then the utility will be downloaded to your computer.
If you haven’t updated to the latest version, try updating to the latest version. Go to ASUS‘s website then you can download the latest version.
After the download is done, unzip the file. Open the unzipped folder, double-click on Setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
If Method 2 doesn’t work for you, you can try Method 3.
Method 3: Use Armoury Crate instead
Aura Sync is part of Armoury Crate now. You still can download the latest version of Aura Sync from ASUS’ website, but the standalone version of ASUS Aura won’t receive updates soon. So it’s recommended you switch over to Armoury Crate.
First, uninstall Aura Sync and other Aura software.
1) Right-click on the Start menu button at the bottom left corner of the desktop and then select Apps and Features.
2) Uninstall these software: AURA, AURA Service, GALAX GAMER RGB, Patriot, Viper M2 SSD RGB and Patriot Viper RGB.
To uninstall a software, select the software and then click on Uninstall.
3) After you uninstall all mentioned Aura software, restart your computer.
Second, go to ASUS’s website again to download and install Armoury Crate to your computer.
Armoury Crate not detecting your devices?
Armoury Crate not detecting devices has been commonly reported by software users. If you run into this issue, you can follow the steps to resolve the problem.
1) Uninstall Armoury Crate, Armoury Crate Service software, and all other Aura software.
2) Go to C:\eSupport\eDriver.
3) Double-click on AsInsWiz.exe to run the application to update the required drivers.
4) Download and install Armoury Crate again.
If Method 3 doesn’t work for you, you can try Method 4
Method 4: Disable fast startup
Fast startup is a feature that helps Windows start quickly by saving system data to disk. In most cases, this feature is helpful by improving the startup time. But in some cases, it can cause system or software issues like the Aurn Sync not working issue. To fix the Aura Sync not working issue, you can try disabling the fast startup feature. To do so:
1) Press the Windows logo key and type “power settings”. Then click on Power & sleep settings.
2) Click Additional power settings.
3) Click Choose what the power button does.
4) Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
5) Uncheck the box next to Turn on fast startup and then click Save Changes. Then your computer will disable the fast startup feature in Windows.
6) Restart your computer.
7) Check to see if the Aura Sync utility works properly.
If the problem still persists, try the next method.
Method 5: Update BIOS
If none of the above methods works for you, the last resort you can try is to update BIOS.
Important: Modifying BIOS incorrectly can cause serious system issues like not booting up issues. So ensure you know what you’re doing. Or you can contact your product manufacturer for further assistance.
The way to update BIOS varies depending on the ASUS ROG RGB product you’re using, motherboard or laptop. For more detailed instructions, you can check your product manual or contact ASUS customer support.
