Genshin Impact won’t launch and is stuck on the loading screen. That can be frustrating. But don’t worry. To fix the problem, you can try the below methods and see if you find one that works for you.

Method 1: Reboot your router and modem
The Genshin Impact stuck on loading screen problems can be caused by poor network connection. To fix the problem, the first method you can try is to reboot your router and modem. Here’s how:
1) Turn off your router and modem.
2) Unplug the power cable from the router and modem.
3) Wait for a few minutes, for example, 5 minutes.
4) Plug the power cable back into the router and modem.
5) Turn on the router and modem.
Launch Genshin Impact and check to see if the stuck on loading screen problem is resolved. If the problem persists, continue to try other methods.
Method 2: Update your graphics driver
Outdated graphics drivers can cause Genshin Impact not to start properly. You can try updating your graphics card driver to the latest version and see if this helps resolve the Genshin Impact stuck on loading screen problem.
You can update the graphics card driver via Device Manager. Here’s how:
1) Open Device Manager (learn how to access Device Manager).
2) Expand category “Display adapters”. Right-click on your graphics card device entry and then select Update driver.
3) Select Search automatically for drivers. Then Windows will search for a new driver and install the driver automatically.
Alternatively, you can go to the PC manufacturer’s website or the graphics card manufacturer’s website to download the drivers. Usually, drivers can be downloaded from the Drivers, Support or Download section.
Tip: If the error still occurs, you can use Driver Easy to help update the drivers. Driver Easy can scan your system to detect any missing or outdated driver and allow you to update drivers with a few clicks. Go to the vendor’s website to download Driver Easy.
After updating the graphics driver, check to see if Genshin Impact is still stuck on the loading screen. If the problem still persists, move on to try other methods.
Method 3: Change DPI settings
To fix the Genshin Impact stuck on loading screen problem, you can try changing DPI settings. Here’s how:
1) On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and then type “genshin impact”. Right-click on Genshin Impact from the result and then select Open file location.
2) Right-click on the shortcut of Genshin Impact and select Properties.
3) At the Compatibility tab, click on Change high DPI settings.
4) Check the box next to Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by, and select Application from the drop-down menu.
5) Click OK -> OK to apply the changes.
Relaunch Genshin Impact and check to see if you’re still facing the stuck on loading screen error.
If this method doesn’t work for you, you can try Method 4.
Method 4: Verify game files
If the game files are corrupted or missing, Genshin Impact can be stuck on the loading screen. To fix the problem, you can try verifying the game files that will repair any corrupted or missing files. However, this is a feature of Epic Games Launcher. Only can you use this method if you launch Genshin Impact from Epic Games Launcher.
Here’s how to verify the game files of Geshin Impact:
1) Open Epic Games Launcher.
2) Go to your Library.
3) Click the three dots next to Genshin Impact.
4) Select Verify from the pop-up menu. The process can take a while. Wait until the process is finished.
Once done, check to see if you can launch Genshin Impact without any problems.
Method 5: Delete dump files
Some users have reported that they fixed the problem by deleting the dump files created in the Genshin Impact directory. You can try to do that as well and see if it works for you (deleting this file won’t delete any data of your game). To do that:
1) Open File Explorer.
2) Navigate to the Genshin Impact directory. The default directory is C:\Program Files\Genshin Impact.
3) Type “dumpfile” in the search box then press Enter. After that, Windows will search for any files with the words “dumpfile” in Genshin Impact’s directory.
Tip: The name of dump files would be something like “DumpFile-[numbers].dmp” and “DumpFile-zebrowser-[numbers].dmp”. The [numbers] are replaced with the real numbers.
If deleting dump files doesn’t resolve the problem, you can try deleting the Persistent file. See Method 6.
Method 6: Delete the Persistent file
Deleting the Persistent file in the Genshin Impact directory can increase the load speed of the game (deleting this file won’t delete any data of your game). In some cases, it can resolve the stuck on loading screen problem.
1) Open File Explorer.
2) Open the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Genshin Impact\Genshin impact Game\GenshinImpact_Data
3) In the GenshinImpact_Data folder, locate and then delete the Persistent file.
After you delete the Persistent file, relaunch the game to check to see if the problem persists.
Method 7: Reinstall Genshin Impact
To fix the problem, you can try reinstalling the game. Here’s how to do it:
1) Press Win+R keys to open the Run box.
2) Right-click on the Start menu button and select Apps and Features.
3) Scroll down and locate Genshin Impact. Right-click on it and select Uninstall.
If Genshin Impact is not listed, you can uninstall the game by deleting the folder where the game was installed.
4) After the uninstallation process is complete, restart your computer.
5) Install the game again.
Method 8: Delete Genshin Impact registry entries
If none of the above methods works, the last resort you can try is to delete the registry entries of the game.
IMPORTANT: Modifying the registry incorrectly may cause serious system issues. If you’re not comfortable with this method, skip it. If you know what you’re doing, it’s recommended you back up the registry (learn how to back up the registry) first, so you can restore it if necessary.
Follow these steps to delete the Genshin Impact registry entries:
1) Press Win+R keys to open the Run box.
2) Type “regedit” into the Run box and click OK to open the Registry Editor.
3) Navigate to the below entry and delete all values under this entry:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\miHoYo\Genshin Impact
4) Restart Genshin Impact and check to see if you’re still experiencing the stuck on loading screen problem.
