No Sound on Rocket League? Try These 6 Easy Methods

Method 1: Adjust the audio settings in Rocket League to default

To adjust the audio settings to default, open Rocket League, navigate to the Audio settings, and then click the DEFAULT button at the bottom of the screen.

Method 2: Make sure Rocket League is not muted

Since you just can’t hear sound from Rocket League, it’s possible that Rocket League is muted. So check and make sure Rocket League is not muted through Volume mixer:

1) Right-click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and select Open Volume mixer.

2) Check if Rocket League is muted. If it’s muted, you’ll see a red circle with a red line on it. To unmute, move the volume slider up to 100. After that, you’ll hear sound from Rocket League again.

You also need to check the audio output settings for Rocket League, and make sure the output settings are correct:

1) Right-click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and select Open Sound settings.

2) Scroll down and click on App volume and device preferences.

3) Make sure the volume of Rocket League is not set to 0.

Besides, make sure the output device for Rocket League is set correctly. For example, if you’re using your headphones to listen to the sound, under the “Output Input” section, ensure your headphones device is selected.

Method 4: Enable Spatial sound for headphones

Some users reported that enabling Spatial sound for headphones helped them fix the Rocket League no sound issue. You can try this method as well and see if it works for you. Here’s how:

1) On your keyboard, press Win+R to invoke the Run box.

2) Type “control mmsys.cpl sounds” in the Run box and click on OK to open the Sound control panel.

Method 6: For Steam users

Rocket League is no longer available to new players on Steam. But if you still launch Rocket League from Steam, you can try this method to fix the no sound issue:

1) Launch Steam.

2) Right-click on Rocket League and select Local Files.

3) Click the Browse Local Files button. Then the game installation folder will open.

4) Inside the game installation folder, navigate to the Config folder.

5) Open the file “BaseSystemSettings.ini”.

6) Find the line saying “UseDirectSound=True” and change it to “UseDirectSound=False“.

7) Save the file and restart the game.
