What causes screen tearing in games?

That said, the game produces a frame rate higher than the refresh rate that the monitor can handle. For example, if the FPS in game suddenly goes to 120HZ, but your monitor’s refresh rate is only 60HZ, the screen tearing will occur.

How to fix screen tearing in games?
Two effective methods are available to fix screen tearing in games.
Method 1: Update the graphics card driver
The screen tearing can be caused by outdated graphics card drivers. To fix the problem, you can try updating the graphics card driver.
Manually updating drivers can take time, and can cause errors if incorrect drivers are installed. So if you don’t have much driver knowledge, you can use a driver update utility to help you.

How to turn on V-Sync
Generally, you can turn on V-Sync easily via the graphics card control panel. And the steps vary depending on the graphics card you’re using.
For NVIDIA graphics card:
Open NVIDIA Control Panel, then click on Manage 3D settings in the left pane, and then click on the Global Settings tab in the right pane. Select On from the drop-down menu of Vertical sync.
