How to Fix “Can’t open AsIO.sys” Error

1) On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key.

3) Extract the zip file.

4) Open the extracted folder and then locate the file called “AsusSetup.exe”.

5) Right-click on “AsusSetup.exe” and select Run as administrator. Then you should install the utility successfully.

a) Right-click on the downloaded file of the utility (.zip file) and select Properties.

  1. Noch einfacher ist das: Lade Malwarebytes (Free) runter- Starte es und lass den Fehler Automatisch Reparieren. Habe es eben getan und Fehler weg :o)

    It’s even easier: Download Malwarebytes (Free)- Start it and let the error repair automatically. Just did it and error gone :o)

  2. What if you dont have either of those programs? I have AURA Service itself, but not the programs installed with it. So looking at your SS above you are showing that you need to right click on AURA with the colorful ring around it to uninstall.. the icon under says “AURA service” and thats the only thing related to AURA at all. I went to DL the program and you need a subscription? I dont need the program, but the pop up is annoying and firefox takes longer to load when I get the error..

  3. Microsoft Windows 10, October 25, 2022-KB5018482 update installed and “Can´t open AsIO.sys !! (2)” error after restarting the computer.

    This error was resolved by uninstalling October 25, 2022-KB5018482 update!

    • Thanks for the info.
      I have same error with ASUS GL12CM after Windows 11 (64bit) 22H2 update.
      I had to do an in place upgrade (keeping data + apps) using Media Creation Tool to create the Windows 11 22H2 .iso because downloading the 22H2 update kept on crashing with error 0x80d02002.
      I haven’t tried uninstalling 22H2 yet…
