Dead Space Remake crashed with the DirectX error? That must be frustrating. Don’t worry. To fix the error, you can try the methods below.

Method 1: Reinstall Graphics Driver
The problem can be caused by corrupted Nvidia graphics driver files. You can replace the driver file by reinstalling the Nvidia graphics driver.
Firstly, uninstall the Nvidia graphics driver.
While uninstalling the graphics driver, you need to completely delete the related driver file, including registry keys. To do so, it’s recommended you use the free graphics driver removal utility Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU).
To completely uninstall Nvidia graphics drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller, follow these steps:
1) Download Display Driver Uninstaller from Wagnardsoft, the developer of this application. This is their site’s link: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/display-driver-uninstaller-DDU.
2) After you download DDU to your PC, double-click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the application.
3) Launch DDU.
4) Select device type to GPU and select device to NVIDIA.
5) Click Clean and restart.
6) DDU will start uninstalling your NVIDIA drivers. Wait for a few minutes until the the process is finished.
Secondly, reinstall the Nvidia graphics driver.
After you uninstall the Nvidia graphics driver, reboot your computer, then Windows will reinstall the graphics driver automatically.
Once done, launch Dead Space Remake and check to see if the DirectX error is resolved.
If the error is not resolved, try updating the graphics driver. You can use GeForce Experience to update your Nvidia graphics driver. If you don’t have GeForce Experience installed, go to Nvidia’s official website to download the latest Nvidia graphics driver manually.

The error can be caused by corrupted game files. To resolve the error, you can try repairing the game files. To do so:
On Steam
1) Open Steam.
2) Go to your game library.
3) Right-click on Dead Space Remake.
4) Select Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files.
On Origin
1) Open Origin.
2) Go to your game library.
3) Click on Settings (the gear icon) next to Dead Space Remake.
4) Select Repair.
Once done, re-launch Dead Space Remake and check to see if the error is resolved.
Method 5: Reinstall the Game
If none of the above methods work, the last resort you can try is to reinstall the game.
Firstly, uninstall Dead Space. To do it, right-click on the Start button, select Programs and Features. To do this, right-click on the Start button, select Apps and Features, select Dead Space in the app list and then click Uninstall. After confirming the removal, restart your computer.
Secondly, download and install Dead Space again.
