Step 1: Uninstall the touch screen driver
To reinstall the touch screen driver, the first thing you need to do is to uninstall driver. Here’s how to do it:
1) Right-click on the Start menu button in the bottom left corner of the desktop, and select Device Manager.
2) In Device Manager, expand the category “Human Interface Devices” and right-click on HID-compliant touch screen, and then select Uninstall device.
TIP: If you see HID-compliant touch screen missing under the “Human Interface Devices” category, the device could be hidden. You can click View on the top menu, and select Show hidden devices. After that, all hidden devices will show up in the list.
3) Click the Uninstall button to confirm the uninstallation, then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure.
Step 2: Reinstall the touch screen driver
Once uninstallation is done, restart your machine then Windows will reinstall the touch screen driver again.
After reinstalling the touch screen driver, if your touch screen still doesn’t work, you may want to update the touch screen and the chipset drivers to the latest version. You can go to the device’s manufacturer’s website to manually download the latest version of the drivers.
