Easy Steps to Fix AOC Monitor No Signal Issues

You turn on the computer but your AOC monitor displays the “No Signal” message. What could be the cause? It could be due to a broken display cable, a broken monitor, incorrect Input Source, etc. Follow the instructions below to do some troubleshooting and find the possible solutions.

There are six possible solutions below. Try them one by one and see if you can find the solution to your AOC monitor “No Signal” issues.

Method 1: Check the connection
Method 2: Check the Input Source
Method 3: Check the display cables
Method 4: Check the output ports
Method 5: Check the monitor
Method 6: Check the RAM

Method 1: Check the connection

“No Signal” on a monitor means the connection between the monitor and the computer is loose. One of the possible reasons is that the display cable is not fully seated into the output ports. To fix the issue, you can try to unplug the cable and re-plug it again.

1) Turn off your computer and your AOC monitor.

2) Unplug the display cable from both the monitor end and the computer end.

3) Wait a few minutes, like five minutes.

4) Re-plug the display cable at both ends. Remember to make sure the cable is inserted firmly at both ends.

5) Turn on your computer and your monitor.

6) Check to see if the “No Signal” issue is resolved.

Method 2: Check the Input Source

If your monitor is using the wrong Input Source, the “No Signal” issue can occur. For example, if you connect the monitor through an HDMI cable, the Input Source on the monitor needs to be set as HDMI. If it’s set as DVI or DisplayPort, the monitor won’t work and may display the “No Signal” issue.

Press the Menu button at the bottom of your monitor then use the narrow keys to navigate to Input Source. Check if the input source is selected correctly. If not, switch it to the correct one.

Method 3: Check the display cables

The “No Signal” issue can be caused by a broken display cable. Try with a different display cable (if available). If the issue is gone while using the different cable, the original display cable is broken. In that case, you need to replace the cable with a new one.

Method 4: Check the output ports

Try with different output ports as the output port you are using can be dead. For example, if you connect the monitor through an HDMI port, try with another HDMI port. You can also try with different types of output ports like DVI ports and DisplayPort ports. Again, ensure the Input Source is selected correctly.

If you’re using a dedicated graphics card, make sure the display cable is plugged into the graphics card, not the motherboard.

How to verify the motherboard ports and the graphics card ports?

Usually, graphics card ports are horizontal and motherboard ports are vertical. For modern computers, motherboard ports usually sit above the graphics card ports.

Method 5: Check the monitor

A broken monitor can also be the cause of the “No Signal” issue. If possible, connect the monitor to another device and see if it works.

Alternatively, you can try with a different monitor and see if that monitor works on your computer.

After troubleshooting, you should be able to find if the monitor is working fine. If it works fine, then the issue can be caused by other hardware issues like RAM issues (see Method 6)

Method 6: Check the RAM

In some cases, the RAM may be not seated firmly in the slot, then the monitor “No Signal” issue can occur. Remove the RAM and then put it back again. Remember to ensure the RAM is seated properly and firmly.

If the RAM is not the cause, you may also want to check the CPU, the graphics card and the motherboard. Ensure they’re seated firmly too. If you have difficulties doing this on your own, it’s recommended you take the computer to a professional to get it further checked.
