When you connect a second monitor to your Windows 10 computer, Windows will automatically set the resolution of the second monitor the same as the resolution of the primary monitor. But if you want, you can set the different resolutions for each monitor. It’s very easy; just follow the steps below:
1) Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
2) At the top of the pop-up window, click on the numbered monitor to select the monitor you wish to change the resolution for.
3) Scroll down to the Scale and layout section and find Display resolution. Then select a resolution from the drop-down menu of Display resolution.
Wrong resolution can make apps, text and other items look weird. You may want to try multiple resolutions for each monitor until both monitors look fine. For safety, You can try the recommended resolution first.
If you need to change the resolution for another monitor, repeat the step 2) and step 3) to set the resolution for another computer. You can also try the recommended resolution first.
With the simple steps above, you can set different resolutions on dual monitors easily. If you have any questions, ideas or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment below.
